Sacred Liminality

Language is a wonderful thing, but we are limited by our vocabulary. Because our experiences are subjective, one of the biggest causes for miscommunication (especially with regards to magick and spirituality) is that we don’t have a common consensus on what certain terms mean. One word can mean very different things to different people, and any given two people might use different terms to describe the same thing. Additionally, it’s pretty common for us to come up with our own terms to make sense of an experience that does not already have a name in our language.

Therefore, one of the best things we can do to attempt to avoid this issue is to define what the terms we use actually mean to us. This post is my personal glossary of terms; these are by no means the only definitions of these terms, these are just the definitions that I use…
